With our cold fall, we were able to start ice fishing a little earlier this year on Edward Lake. At the end of November, there was about 5-6 inches of good ice and so we began fishing in front of K.C.'s Landing Resort. The fishing right after freeze-over is always outstanding. We would fish for only 20 minutes or so and have our dinner caught and many more released. There were no trophy size Walleye to speak of, but plenty of good "eating size".
We got the fishing shacks out in December and continued to fish almost every night. Towards the middle of December, the fishing slowed down a little, but there was never any problem catching enough to eat. Here are a few pictures of Meagan and her friends enjoying the warm ice fishing shack just before Christmas.
