It was a fantastic fall for Muskie fishing. Our guests fished using suckers for about a month and had great success with both size and numbers. We actually had more fishermen arrive today despite the foot of snow and cold temperatures. It takes a true “hardcore” fisherman to get into a boat full of snow and cast all day for Muskie! They will likely be here until freeze-up. Some of the smaller lakes in the area are now covered in ice. We are well into winter ALREADY, which will make for a very long one. We got almost a foot of snow in one dumping a week ago and we’ve got a little bit every day since then. After the first dump of snow we were left without electricity for two days and it was nearly impossible to get anywhere due to the amount of trees all over the roads. Things are getting cleaned up now and it simply looks like a winter wonderland out there. The Walleye have also been biting good for those who wanted to keep some for dinner. We are looking forward to wrapping up the season and getting the ice shacks out there once the lake is frozen over! We always enjoy some ice fishing during our “downtime” before we head out for sports shows.
